I'm so happy people are still playing this. I used to play this when I was 12 back in the 2010's or 2000's. We had this neighbor. She was an old, old lady. We only knew her as "Mrs. Betty". One day, my mom made some blueberry muffins, and she said we should bring Mrs. Betty a half dozen. Obviously, I was preoccupied playing this game, but I pulled myself away for a moment to go with my brother and sister to her house with the little basket of treats. We got to her door and she was confused. Very confused. We were also confused because Mrs. Betty had met us. She knew our names, our dog's name, that we set up a lemonade stand on the corner of the road, where her lawn technically was. She knew us. But, at that moment, she didn't know us. She forgot us. She told us to leave, and didn't want the muffins. She thought we were trying to sell them to her or something, I'm not sure. I was about 13 then. I'm 27 now. Years have passed. I moved. I went to college. Mrs. Betty probably died for all I know. I mean, she has to be dead, right? She was 90 several decades ago. Anyway. I still think about those times. I used to sit in the living room, on the family computer, playing games just like this. I was happy then. I wonder what happened.

@ka boomer Haha yeah Noita is very brutal. There is a really cool mod called Conjurer that gives you an island on the sky and lets you spawn/erase materials and a bunch of other stuff. Hopefully you see this message and get to check it out! it is a separate game mode with save slots and everything

I just love that you can plant trees, and place water and seads to make them grow. The only problem you have to use powder or G powder do you plan to which they should add sand and also they should make different types of wood and more stuff to the game. Hope it helps!!

it's like - when you draw with block and you make a mistake you can use the clear function to fix it. but once you've saved/loaded anything from before that will revert to 4x4 if you try to use the clear function. also I should clarify. the steps are: right click the screen. click "inspect." click "console" at the top of the box that shows up on your screen. Then input gd[0]=1 and click enter. then the powder button will draw with block instead of powder.

I would love to see that in application! Yes, use steam to keep the size through saves/loads (including get/set). I’d add the block at the very end, since once you put any down you won’t be able to use the clear function to edit (note: you can actually use the clear function before saving/loading and it won’t revert the block). I haven’t done a lot of testing with size 0 block so idk if 1-pixel thick walls would be just as air-tight as 2 pixel wide ones. One-pixel wide walls with other elements can act strangely sometimes. I’m pretty confident that a 2-pixel thick wall would work as well as the standard 4x4 block tho

Fair enough, I wouldn't want to dig around in tangled code either. From the looks of it, I could theoretically make a series of tubes with this size 0 block, that is just as airtight as any other size block? Id just have to like, add it in after I've made what I want it to surround and have it load in with some element surrounding it, like steam so it doesn't turn into size 1? This would be huge. It would make creating a compact identifer that can identify many more elements so much easier.

My understanding is that since PG1 is much older and from a time when Ha55ii had less of an understanding for how to code well it's very difficult to update. PG2's source code is much easier for the devs to work with, patch, and update. As for using size 0 block - it's really finicky to work with but it's relatively simple to implement. if you right click the screen, go to "console" and paste gd[0]=1 it'll change the powder button to draw with block. same with steam: gd[0]=12 salt water: gd[0]=37 wood: gd[0]=6 and snow: gd[0]=11 you can also use a virus glitch displayed here, but it's near impossible to make builds with this method: https://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/?code=453195 Note: once you've placed size 0 block it'll revert to a 4x4 square deleting anything in its way if you place block, use the clear function, or save/load without the total 4x4 covered in one element or another.

How did you manage to use size zero block? Are you a witch?! That stuff would make everything so much easier, given it behaves just like normal block. Also, I do wonder why pg2 exists, if the devs could have just added the new elements present in that game to this one. thanks! I knew with the laser if I used the pen-paint method I'd have to design the system in a way that it would detect the laser whichever way it shot. the gas mechanism was probably the trickiest to design. the whole idea of the fire mechanism is that it's the only one that produces air, so i needed to cause the gas to react in a way that didn't involve it exploding (which is, like, gas's whole thing lmao). Bird was also tough. if you look closely I actually ended up using some size zero block in there because I needed a layer of a non-reactive element. I really wish we had pg2's crystal - it would make some things so much easier

Gasses didn't quite work, neither did plasma. Incorporeal or Intangible Elements sounded best but was too long a title. Settled on the shortest word I could find that kind of fit. Anyways I'm pretty proud of the creation - it didn't take as much work as the Solid Identifier but it was definitely tricky. Hope you enjoy!

at the very least, an identifier which could ID every element would have to be arranged very differently from what I've been making. it'd have to be suuper compact which is tough and honestly I'm not excited at the prospect of having to figure out all the interactions which would be needed to make that work. it's hard enough to make failsafes that keep the wrong indicator from going off when you're working with 7-10 elements.

Thank you, and I see where you're coming from with not being able to id all elements. Hell, some of them are so similar to others, like snow and water, or just completely inert, like steam, that they can't make a unique sequence happen with their properties. I imagine with the right planning and layout, one could get damn near every element in one system. It's easy enough to separate the powders, liquids, solids, and gasses. It'll be like 4 small identifiers in one.

having revisited it, I'm really impressed by your powder identifier! very well done. As for your idea, I think it's theoretically possible to make an identifier that would identify a number of solid/liquid/powder/intangible elements even though their properties are different. but I don't think it would be possible to make an identifier that works with all elements. probably not more than 10-15 or so elements max just because of spacing issues.

Can't wait to see it dragon! I'm currently working on a more compact and streamlined version of the powder id, and I'll definitely have the space for written instructions. Also, as I think about the lack of gases to do an id solely dedicated to them, it makes me wonder if an id could be made that includes all 3 states of matter, possibly even including powder! I mean, they're all so different from each other, it wouldn't be a stretch to think they could be all made into one system. The only problem would be space.

All this talk of identifiers got my itch going. I started work on a "gasses" identifier and realized it'd literally just be cloud and gas lmao. so I decided to do an identifier for elements that aren't tangible. Includes Fire, Laser, thunder, spark, etc. It's finished but I'll be running it testing for bugs before uploading. Expect an "Intangibles Identifier" within the next couple days! @Saggybois ah! gotchya. I'll be going back to the upload to experience it in its fullness, then. I find instructions within the upload are usually necessary when you're looking for the player to make specific inputs. it just takes up so much dang space to write instructions XD @red thanks! I can't take too much credit - most of my art uploads nowadays are ported in. it takes some editing but not as much creativity as you obviously have with your uploads :)

I'm really happy to hear that my work inspired another uploader :) As Mr. Tinkle pointed out, I've made both a liquid identifier (which had been done before) and a solid identifier (the only one of its kind). I intend to make a gas identifier and a powder identifier at some point just to round things out. Not working on them atm tho. I tried using the powder identifier you uploaded but whatever I put in the small box at the bottom the result ended up being snow. I'd love to see a patched version if you've got the time to fix whatever the issue is.

I'd say the most compact identifer I've ever seen was by this guy dotter123, it is tiny. I'd love to try to get as close as I can to that size with a powder identifer! I'm sure it's possible, as I didn't really plan ahead with my first version of the powder id, just made it as I went. But now I have a reference to work off of!

Im pretty certain there were powder identifiers back in the day that operated using wind - heavier elements would travel less far than lighter ones, though i dont know how reliable they were. I made a powder identifer. I don't think anyone has ever done such a thing before, as I haven't been able to find anything quite like it on this website. Shout-out to dragon archives for inspiring me to expand on this "identifer" concept, and make something new using it.

I came up with a laser transistor. In order for the laser to move along a given trajectory, it is necessary to direct another laser at a small part of the mechanism. To turn off the transistor, it is enough to stop using another laser on the mechanism.

I just want to say that you guys are awesome, and so is this site. I spent lots of hours messing around in older versions of the Powder Game and several of the other games on this site as a kid. The rules are that: - there must be 2 RNGs with number displays - there must be a 'win' and 'lose' sign - the machine must determine if the numbers match. Other than that, i leave it in your hands. I look forward to seeing your designs :) Dragon, keep going ! You are nearly (halfway) there !!! I dont know how long i plan to keep uploading, but i am going to stick around for a bit and climb the leaderboard some more. I might not be as serious in my tech designs though so may just create some simpler maps. Good to be back though :)

@Alphanerr you should make quicksand. I used acid, stone, clone, and powder to make it. Btw here's how to make it. First, add a bunch of stone on the floor. Second, make a hole in the middle. Third, add clone between the stone. The clone should be separated, then add powder. (the clone shouldn't be touching the stone) fourth, add clone at the bottom of the hole fifth, add acid on it.

I always find the Idle worlds to be pushing the extent of level creation in danball, I did get stuck though covering the lazer pool with mercury and then being unable to continue past the fuse mesh, awesome level though!

i make level 4 of jungle level now. it is very difficult and you need good momentum to glide with the bird ability. the next level after this will be the last one, or maybe not...
